Insights on building enduring companies

About

I’m Adam Taylor – an active CEO and investor across mining, construction and property. I’ve spent the last 20 years building, scaling, and fixing capital-intensive businesses that don’t leave much room for internet fluff.

The pressure of the real-world operations forces clarity. I’ve learned, and quite often the hard way, that scaling doesn’t just stress a business, it exposes its lack of systems.

That’s why I have built what I now call the Cascading Flywheels framework, a practical operating system designed to turn complexity into control and chaotic growth into a more sustainable scale. I use it to lead teams, redeploy capital and run multiple businesses toward long-term, values driven outcomes.

Cascading Flywheels isn’t a shiny new management theory. It doesn’t require scrapping your existing systems. It’s a visual method for identifying what really matters in your business, tracking how it’s performing, and clarifying who’s responsible. It integrates seamlessly with any business model or methodology you’re already using.

What This Site Is

This isn’t a business. I’m not selling coaching or trying to become an influencer.

This site is a place to share the frameworks, systems, and lessons I’ve found useful, so that others can consider for themselves and potentially not have to find out the hard way quite as much as I have.

You won’t find hype or hustle here. Just clear thinking about:

Building a business that serves your life—not the other way around

Scaling in capital-intensive industries

Capital allocation and compounding decisions

Team structure, rhythms, and operational flywheels

Who This is For

If you’re a founder, CEO, or operator in a capital heavy business

and you’re scaling and starting to feel stretched

you may find something that sharpens your thinking.

Most of what I share is written. I post regularly on Linkedin and X, and publish deeper essays here on the site.

A Few Things I’ve Done

Built and run a group of privately held businesses with >$100m in revenue

Both bought, and sold, multiple businesses across different industries including construction and manufacturing

Served as Chairman of an ASX listed exploration company and board member of others

Developed the Cascading Flywheels model and implemented across mining, construction, property and manufacturing industries

I write to clarify my own thinking

If it helps others – especially operators walking the same path I have – then that is a win
